Flash issues - can't get into chat
I cant get into chat, I have googled and tried to do everything I can. Would normally go into chat to ask for help... but... can't!
Every time I try to enter, the chat box says the flash plug-in is disabled. It is not! I have uninstalled and reinstalled also, and restarted Chrome, and even restarted my laptop. Nothing is working! I vaguely remember Chrome asking me to update earlier and I think I clicked to allow it without really thinking about it. My memory is **** at the moment and I dont fully remember. But while I have been trying to get it fixed I have noticed that the Chrome settings lay out is quite different, so I guess it has updated. Please send help! |
Oh, I'm glad its not just me its been driving me more insane than usual!
Thanks Irene :) |
In chrome:
Click the x icon top right on the jigsaw puzzle, click run all plugins this time. Refresh the page, it probably wont load, but now will be blue, click the same button again, refresh again. This should get you into chat. It might take a bit of trial and error, give about 15 seconds between each button press and refresh. Moving to another chat platform is a priority imo. |
just gonna add pic of what you're looking for.
clicky red to get that box open then click the link as shown in the green circle |
In chrome you now have to allow flash:
Go to chrome -> settings (3 little dots in far upper right). Scroll down and click on advanced at bottom of the page...... oh ffs, i can explain the workaround, why should i. **** ... i will do a work instruction for this problem by monday. |

Flash dies in 2020. I hope chat has a plan for that strange new world
|
I hope its much like a strange new world

I believe it's being discontinued in 2020. At that point all development (including bug and security fixes) will stop and Adobe has stated they'll no longer distribute it.
But chat won't be the only legacy Flash app out there. There will be something to allow Chat to exist for some time after. How long we have no clue as eventually browsers will make themselves not work with Flash at all due to security implications. |
did you know if you use chrome on linux it doesnt ask you to allow flash to run. SOLVED
