I have read that, I thought it was good, think it might have been a wee bit slow to begin with but once you get to know the characters(sp sorry!) it gets better. I had never read any of his other books so couldn't compare. Devil x |
I'm reading Crystal by Katie Price.
It is really good I have nearly finished it now. I read her first book Angel a couple of months ago. |
if i had to pick one book to read over and over again for the rest of my life, it would be A Million Little Pieces. i'm sure you've all heard of it... on the news. or oprah. whatever. haha it's a FANTASTIC book even if it's "all lies". i've read it four or five times now.
i just finished reading, for the third time, Needful Things by Stephen King. it's one of his older ones, and it's a ginormous read. tiny print, really thick book. but it's a wonderful story. never gets boring. never has too much detail. the only problem i have with it is that there are 2984752394762730597048305783082508386 x 10^3067359 characters. even my third time through the book, i was still doing some flipping back and forth to make sure i had the names right. you know how SK is with his characters intertwining... but this is like 'heyyyy make a character chart'. awesome book though. i could just eat it up. :burger: |
I have to say that H.P. Lovecraft and Chuck Palahniuk are amazing writers and I love everything they've written.
Also: the book "House of Leaves" is fantastic. Right now I'm not reading anything in particular, but I have a number of books I just purchased, among them The Bible, Matrix Warrior, and Hardcore Zen. I'm planning on buying some new Lovecraft soon... |
i'm reading 'down and out in paris and london' by george orwell,

I am reading Bodily Harm you may have seen it advertised on v2, I saw it at barnes and noble the last time I went there so I got it for $16, kinda expensive, but oh well, it's informative so far.

|
I've just finished A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown....It's really good, so inspiring, it is her autobiography and she is such an amazing person and its actually full of some useful stuff about recovery (she was a drug addict and an alcoholic but you could relate alot of the stuff across to sh)!
Just started how to be good by the guy that wrote about a boy....can't remember his name it's funny so far but i've only read the first chapter!! |
Recently read When Rabbit Howls by Trudi Chase and the various professioanls who worked with her. This is a very 'hard' book and you do really need to be able to keep track of all the different personalities.

I love to read, so this might be a long reply. Within the past day I read Harry Potter 5 and 6 (gotta get ready for the movie and final book!). Soon I plan on re-reading The Wizard of Oz by L. I've gone from some trite piece of 'chick-lit' that came free with Cosmo, to starting The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton last night. In the mood for something romantic and classic after dragging my eyes over that filth
|
Saul by Rosemary Kay
I read this book while working in America and looked everywhere for it when i returned to the UK, ended up getting off Amazon. Anyway I very very moving book, don't think i've cried so much reading a book. It's all about baby Saul who was born premature and his time in intensive care but it's written from Saul's perspective etc |
Porno by Irvine Welsh.
Sequal to Tranispotting. Good enough so far! |
As Nature Made Him by John Calaptino. Its really interesting, though it has a lot of medical stuff. It's a true story and really interesting. It explores nature vs nurture and gender identity.
|
I have just finished The sweet Scent of Death by Guillermo Arriaga.
I loved it, it was short, addictive and really well written. The author is the same guy who wrote the screen play of Amores perros and 21 Gramms. |
I'm reading vive la revoution by mark steel - it's a book about the french revolution but it's told with humour and removes all the stuffiness that normally shrouds history books
|
I just finished 'Blood Beast' by Darren Shan.

For my own pleasure, i'm reading Harry potter and the OTP

|
Requiem For A Dream by Hubert Selby, Jr.
VERY upsetting book. Even moreso than the movie. :( |
Just finished reading two.
King Dork by Frank Portman - Pretty good if you're just interested in a fun read. Nothing really interesting except LOTS of words about simple matters. Six Months to Live by Lurlene McDaniel's Next up, Crank by Ellen Hopkins...that's suppose to be really good! |
Had a reading fest recently, am about to finish "Dont Tell Mummy" and just read "Please, Daddy, No" before that. Excellent books, too sad though :(
