Seven years baby!
Another year has passed and I have achieved some things. Not only that but I am another year free of SI (making it 7 years free!)

1. I had to have a change of cpn. I coped fine and am honest with my new cpn however due to a bad experience I am wary. So far she seems ok.

2. Although I abused alcohol last year I managed to stop myself and so far this year I am continuing to use alcohol responsibily. In addition when I was abusing alcohol I didn't make it too prolonged.

3. I continue to go swimming most weeks (I don't go during half term because the kids stress me out).

4. I meet with my friend most weeks for coffee. This is a good thing because I struggle with getting out of the flat when I am having a bad day.

5. I didn't end up IP last year.

6. I have bed and I haven't binged once last year.

The only downside is that I have still yet to do anything regarding learning Italian. I am also secretary for a sports day for people with disabilities but it's not going ahead again this year once again but when I did it I managed the workload fine.

So that's it! I feel as though SI is part of my past and that's something that I will never do again. As I have said previously once I get to 10 years free I will post on Facebook (the majority of people on there don't know that I SI ). Here's to another year free!

Yesterday I had part of my reward: a baileys latte. It was very good. Still got to do my main reward however.

not_so_insig 25-06-2018 04:07 PM

My main reward is a day where I watch a dvd, paint nails, put perfume on and consume snacks. I used to buy something in the end I couldn't decide. Plus I am slowly running out of room. So I decided to reward myself that way.

one_step_closer 25-06-2018 04:52 PM

I'm glad you enjoyed your Baileys latte, and I hope you have a nice reward day when you have it.

not_so_insig 25-06-2018 05:12 PM

Thanks Lindsay.

not_so_insig 15-08-2018 05:59 PM

Thanks Lindsay. I almost cut myself the other day but didn't though.

one_step_closer 15-08-2018 07:50 PM

I'm sorry to hear you came close to self harming but huge well done with managing not to. You are amazing and so strong.

not_so_insig 16-08-2018 01:27 AM

Thanks for your kind words Lindsay.

not_so_insig 15-09-2018 02:12 AM

not_so_insig 15-11-2018 01:28 AM

I am 7 years 5 months free today! If I get to 7 years 6 months then I can reward myself. I have ideas what to get though.

Eska 15-11-2018 12:45 PM

That's awesome, Dawn! What are you thinking of getting as a reward?

not_so_insig 15-11-2018 07:55 PM

Thanks Eska. I am thinking of getting a year's worth of Bakewell puddings (they post one a month) amongst other things. Or a DVD of Simon and the witch.

one_step_closer 16-11-2018 05:35 PM

Well done Dawn. :-)

not_so_insig 16-11-2018 08:53 PM

Thanks Lindsay.

not_so_insig 15-12-2018 01:10 AM

I am another month free today! That makes it 7 years 6 months. I am going to reward myself but I am waiting until after Christmas because Christmas is expensive and I don't want to go into debt. Also I might have inspiration for my reward after Christmas.

nonperson 15-12-2018 01:29 PM

Really well done, Dawn. =)

one_step_closer 15-12-2018 02:08 PM

WooHoo! Huge well done.

Thanks tamobhuuta

glitterfairy 05-01-2019 10:26 AM

This isn't meant to be judgy but why after this amount of time do you keep counting months free?

I've only just realised today I'm 6 years free and that's only because Facebook reminded me.

You say your 7 years 6 months free but are you really *free* if you keep hanging onto it???

not_so_insig 05-01-2019 03:43 PM

Because I find it useful to keep count of my recovery. For some people counting doesn't work but for me it does. I suspect that once I get to ten years free i will probably stop. Also unlike Facebook where I don't post there due to the fact that I have non rylers on there and therefore the majority of people don't know that I SI I have nobody to share it with who will understand what it's like to be free.

Also if you read my first post then I have made progress in other areas I make a new post every year to evaluate it.

not_so_insig 19-01-2019 10:43 PM

I am a bit late because I haven't been coming here but I am another month free.

one_step_closer 20-01-2019 01:54 PM

Well done Dawn, you are so strong.
