Films you couldnt finish.
Have you ever started to watch a film and got so far through it then became aware that it just wasn't worth your time and needed to stop watching it or needed to leave the movie theatre emporium before your head exploded.

I was just ambling netflix as you do  when i spotted Hackers . I am embarrassed to say i managed about 25 minutes of its attempt to pass itself off as a sane piece of cinematography when i managed to stop the film before my feet went through the television screen. Johnny lee miller Angela jolie cyber punk thriller  roller blades  argggh its still bothering me.

null_n_void 01-11-2013 12:54 AM

Battlefield Earth

simple as that. I can quite honestly say that this film is something of a train wreck. It's just wrong on so many different levels and I hope I never see the likes of it again....

FranticMind 01-11-2013 09:55 PM

insidious 2, the storyline was predictable and it wasnt scary at all, me and my friedn walked out of the cinema after 20 minutes.

not_so_insig 01-11-2013 11:39 PM

Ali. I fell asleep in the cinema which I have never done before or since. If I was on my own I would have walked out. The only consolation is that I didn't pay for the tickets.

SirEffinBarsteward 02-11-2013 01:11 PM

A Serbian Film, physically sickening, twisted, extremely disturbing. If anyone has seen it they will know what i mean.
Men Behind the Sun (a Japanese film based on true stories of Unit 731 and what extreme experiments they conducted on the Chinese people during WW2) very tough film to watch, sickens you to think that people could do that to one another.

Rafiki 02-11-2013 07:50 PM

Avatar, fell asleep about an hour into that!

Oh & Beautiful Creatures, it annoyed me so much I wanted to punch the TV screen..

Oh & Slumdog Millionaire, fell asleep during that too.

I really loved Beautiful Creatures!

I didnt particularly enjoy Slumdog Millionaire, but then again I didnt fall asleep either.

Lincoln was pretty boring too, they actually could have livened it up by showing him get assassinated.

Myimmortalgirl 03-11-2013 08:25 PM

Twilight they bore me to hell

Red Riding hood

Well the director who made it claimed it was some big political thing or some such. Personally i think they made it cos they wanted to cash in on the shock horror market at the time.

nowhereman 05-11-2013 10:35 PM

I tried twice to watch A Beautiful Mind cos I heard it shows shcizoohrenia very well, but just couldn't stick it, way too much maths in it for me, I hate maths.
There was also a Jennifer Anniston film me and my friend walked out of, I think it was called the break up or something.

lonely eskimo 10-11-2013 09:52 PM

Twilight 1 and 2. That's about it :)

Good body though.

FabulousMike 10-11-2013 09:55 PM

Inception. It put me to sleep BOTH times I tried to watch it.

EyelinerAndCigarettes 11-11-2013 07:44 PM

After Earth.

Just painful. :nono:

Nave 11-11-2013 08:01 PM

Mysterious Skin.

I got really triggered within the first 15 mins, i think i lasted to about 20 mins.

Becca 12-11-2013 02:30 PM

It's really really rare for me not to finish a film. The only one I haven't been able to finish was Melancholia.

There are plenty I have hated though!

Isoverity 13-11-2013 09:13 PM

There have been many but most notably:

Slumdog Millionaire
Moulin Rouge
13 (maybe worst film I ever saw)

forever_lost 14-11-2013 04:43 AM

Spring Breakers

small light 22-11-2013 06:00 PM

Couldn't finish St Trinians 2, just pants lol

-------------------- 22-11-2013 06:21 PM

many movies my sister put on, don't even know the names to them
Some i remember are...

Lord of the rings - went to sleep
black swan

surely there were more but i cant remember

Benjibum 30-11-2013 07:18 PM

Ghosts... Of the Civil Dead

Something about Australian cinema, man. It was very atmospheric, yes, but substantially thin. We have that problem with our literature, too. I just fast forwarded through to the Nick Cave parts [oh gosh, the Nick Cave parts] and left the rest alone.

DestroyMe 01-12-2013 06:06 AM

a few for me were:
Trainspotting - I got to the part with the baby and was just so creeped out I had to stop watching it.
Karla- it took me four or five times to actually finish this movie..it's so massively triggering and upsetting and no
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo/any of the following movies (the original swedish versions)- triggering....other then that it was just boring and confusing.
I've had to sit through A Beautiful Mind in my psych class in high school and it made me really uncomfortable. :ermm:

frenchhorn 01-12-2013 11:09 AM

Brokeback Mountain-just found it dull and not interesting
Gone with the Wind- watched the beginning, then got so bored I left my mum and sister to it, then just told them to tell me when it was the famous line at the end, so I watched that bit.

Those are the two films I have stopped watching, but there have been plenty of films I have watched and wished I hadn't bothered at all because they were so bad and boring.

0HRP1 13-12-2013 01:17 AM

One of the original Star Wars films that they remastered and re-released just before the sequels er,i mean prequels, I think so anyway came out, went to watch one of them and fell asleep, very tedious.

I'm surprised many of you didn't like Slumdog Millionaire, I was expecting to hate it I must admit but I was surprised how gripping it was. When you hear the term feel good film of the year I always want to reach for the sick bag but that was a very dark brooding film which has a glimmer of light at the end.

I struggled to watch Reservoir Dogs when he was slicing the policeman's ear off, I had to cover my eyes at that bit but I did make it till the end of the film.

Haleigh.xx 13-12-2013 08:51 AM

Requiem for a Dream.

I just couldn't get into it.

Isoverity 15-12-2013 01:56 PM

Shuan of the Dead

consequential 15-12-2013 08:46 PM

Elysium. I tried to watch the whole thing and it has to be really bad for me to turn off a film cos I'd watch anything.

michelo tomato 23-12-2013 02:23 AM

star wars - what a load of rubbish.

Derio 23-12-2013 09:02 AM

There are soo many films I’ve not been able to finish and that sentiment seems to be getting worse the older I get.

The lone ranger
Pain and gain
Silver lining
Moonrise kingdom
The godfather
The departed

And most recently “Once bitten”: one of Jim Carreys early films which I had neither the stomach nor the patience to finish.

SirEffinBarsteward 23-12-2013 09:33 AM

The new Lone Ranger was god awful i turned it off after the first 15 minutes so im with you on that one Papio

Lluviazul 24-12-2013 01:15 AM

Pacific Rim... i tried

Tig 24-12-2013 01:33 AM

'Feels So Good' - I watched only a little bit of it, it was terrible.

Blue&Grey 30-01-2014 11:52 PM

My family turned off Hancock within the first ten minutes.
I know there have been others, but my brain has decided to take a nap.

Blue&Grey 30-01-2014 11:54 PM

I've noticed a lot of people saying Trainspotting... why is that? Is is because it is triggering? Or is it because people just genuinely don't like it? I thought it was amazing myself, but then again, I've never dealt with that sort of situation.

My mother LOVES this movie. She made me watch the entire thing with her the first time. After that I refused.

I'm all for "artsy, atmospheric" movies, but this one bored me to tears/ was incredibly depressing for no apparent reason. I felt pretty awful afterwards.

Enthused 31-01-2014 10:40 AM

^ I agree Trainspotting is a great film and a great book.

Amziee 31-01-2014 04:24 PM

Pacific Rim, turned it off after about 20 minutes.
Grave Encounters 2, stopped watching after 30 minutes < I gave it a good chance.
All the Twilight Saga, boring as hell for me .
Rock of Ages, that film is just too awkward to watch, made me cringe.

Selmo 31-01-2014 05:34 PM

The Birds, it takes too long to get into it...
Django, the theme tune is too repetative so it annoyed me

zombiehunter 02-02-2014 02:52 PM

Inglorious bastards

too long it drags on and I got bored with it so decided to watch something else.

I was watching Avatar the other day, not realising it was split up into two DVD's. After finishing the first part, I only just realised the second DVD was missing. So I couldn't watch the second half :(

Lluviazul 05-02-2014 04:24 PM

kung fu hustle
...what was I thinking?

Scumbelina 06-02-2014 03:05 AM

On The Road.

Found it really boring but possibly because I was distracted & couldn't get into it properly

How on earth can you judge a film by the first 15 minutes? You have to actually give a film a chance. I dont think you can say a film you have only watched 15 minutes of is god awful because basically, you havent watched the film at all.

I didnt find it amazing but it wasnt that terrible either. Very hollywood though.

Killer Queen 09-02-2014 10:33 PM

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, for whatever reason just not my thing.
And Donnie Darko

Plenty more, I'm a chronic netflix hopper.

ShakeItOut 16-02-2014 01:20 PM

The Amityville Asylum - Terrible film with appalling acting.

Captainshiny 13-03-2014 12:01 AM

I remember when I was young my mum took me to the cinema to watch Shrek. I feel asleep it was so boring

Patent Pending 13-03-2014 09:55 PM

Gran Torino...Eastwood grunts the entire way through it and occasionally says f***.

All eight of us left the cinema :)

Rafiki 19-03-2014 09:45 AM

Most recently, Gravity. Thank goodness I didn't spend my hard earned money on it & borrowed the DVD from a friend! Had to turn it off after half an hour... just awful. Do not understand why it's got so many awards.

Sentient Treacle 02-04-2014 02:49 AM

So much Lars Von Trier hate, I love his films.

Plenty of bad rom-coms or general comedies I couldn't sit though, Son of the mask is the only one springing to mind.

wi-nter 02-04-2014 07:58 PM

Moonrise Kingdom

I am so sad I couldn't finish it because people seem to love it?? but i just could notget into it at all. what a shame.
