horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 10:22 PM

ooh i like that i've not seen that one before :-D
I used to have about 4 books all for different things. I'm thinking of restarting a new one so hunting new quotes.

“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”

random quotes rock

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 10:23 PM

hey sorry, I was still here kind of, i just popped into first aid forum, but its all good now. I like quotes too, well the good ones that make sense to me, I have a little book of quotations too!

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 10:25 PM

I came across this one a bit ago.. cant make up my mind about it.

"I have this great imaginary world, but sometimes I just need things
to happen for real"

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 10:26 PM

I just picked up my quotation book, I've not looked at it in a while, and it fell open on the death/dying page.....obviously I've looked at that a lot in the past but I just don't remember....

Detour. Derail 24-07-2008 10:27 PM

"a man who finds no satisfaction in himself will seek for it in vain elsewhere"
"remember...the darkest hour only lasts 60 minutes"
"if you keep one eye on the past, you are blind in one eye, but if you forget the past, you are blind in both eyes"

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 10:28 PM

thats one reason i used to categorise the quotes into different books.. i have one full of things that are triggering, oddly sometimes they help to put off things.. but yeh. *huggles*

That PRETTY MUCH sums up how I feel right now...

It would usually for me.. only atm even my imaginated reality isnt real enough or things are too real in the wrong sense. i dont think i can explain.

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 10:40 PM

hmmmm, this can be deleted if its unsuitable/too triggering, but its meant to be a quote of hope.....

"Razors pain you; Rivers are damp; Acids stain you; and drugs cause cramp. Guns aren't lawful; Nooses give; Gas smells awful; You might as well live." Dorothy Parker 1893 - 1967

Detour. Derail 24-07-2008 10:42 PM

I love that :O

Detour. Derail 24-07-2008 10:45 PM

"History does nothing; it does not posses immense riches, it does not fight battles. It is men, real, living, who do all this"
Karl Marx

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 10:55 PM

ok, I don't like getting too political or starting debates, but this quote just struck a chord with me today and where my head is at right now, and I know I've no reason to get in a tiz-woz as I knew Eoghan was in the army when I met him, but obv. I'm not perfect by a long shot....waffling again....sorry...

"Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die" Herbert Hoover

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:06 PM

Thats a fitting war one.. and so true.
These arent really connected to anything as such, i just like them right now:

"But what I see is that everyone keeps changing, evolving, except for
me. I lack courage. Not the kind of courage it takes to rescue a
person from a burning building. Not adrenaline courage. But everyday
courage, the kind that, once it’s added up, day after day, equals a
happy life."

“Drink and dance and laugh and lie, Love, the reeling midnight through, For tomorrow we shall die! (But, alas, we never do)”

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:08 PM

:( Hugs mors certa.. 'its a dangerous business going out your front door..'
at least its safer in here?

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:10 PM

oh mors certa, thats just like kicking someone in the nuts when they've already had a beating and are lying in the gutter. I won't end it for you though, you know what my post said to you in your thread, yeah unfortuantely you've more S*** to live through, but somewhere out there, masked by the vile smell of s*** is something amazing that is worth holding on for. So just try and stay safe, the padded cell is good, it got me through some tough nights. I'm just a holler away, although I've taken my nighttime meds now, so don't know how much longer I'll be actively chatting, but I'm trying to stay online as long as possible so that I'm not more of a f*** up than I already have been tonight.

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:12 PM

horizon surfer, good quotes, thanks for sharing. Has it helped you at all? Are you feeling bit better than earlier? *snuggles*

*snuggles door of padded cell* as mors certa is already in there before snuggling could commence, lol

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:14 PM

*snuggles back* yes it's actually helped me calm down immensely. Thank you. I hope you're doing a bit better too now?

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:20 PM

mors are you ok or do you think you should get your eye/skin checked out? take care of yourself.. don't mean to be patronising, just care for your wellbeing!

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:20 PM

Mors Certa - I'm not asleep yet, so use your good eye for whatever! Do you need to seek treatment? Are you sure you'll be ok in the padded cell by yourself? should we leave the door ajar so that you can get some fresh air?!
Horizon Surfer - glad you've calmed down, i'm feeling better, but alas it is the way when you've just cut, that I know I'll sleep well tonight, but the morning will be another story completely....

Detour. Derail 24-07-2008 11:21 PM

hi mors certa...we havent met...ive been in hiding the past few days...
that sounds reallly crappy...*hugs*

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:25 PM

Why have you been hiding Alexx? Gosh I feel bad now, been so wrapped up in my own things I didn't even say hi to you properly when we were doing the quotes thing. If you wanna chat, I'm not too drowsy from my meds yet, I may be able to offer words of wisdom? failing that I can always give snuggles. I wasn't very snuggly earlier, but I've been given lots of hugs and snuggles over the past few hours and think I can muster up some snuggles for you if you need/want them.

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:25 PM

i understand, but you did what you needed to do to get through a difficult situation for you.. just remember you are just trying to live and this is the coping mechanism you have available.. you did good in putting it off as long as you did imo.

blondiebear 24-07-2008 11:27 PM

Hello. I'm worrying about what my friend, excuse me, my aquaintence, the barbie doll will say when she sees my hair, two inches shorter than it was last week. I'm gonna have to keep my mouth so shut when I see her tonight.

We had a birthday at the meeting this morning. I couldn't say anything nice, so shut up! Every time the birthday girl says hi to me i wonder what the f--- she wants. Normally I would ignore it. But getting chewed out last night at 20 minutes after midnight by a drunk was not fun.

Don't worry about waking me. Ain't gonna happen. Please set an alarm clock for me for 5:30pm Pacific Time.

*curls up in favorite spot and starts snoring almost before my thick glasses are off*

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:28 PM

thanks, but what does imo mean?
Just wish I knew a coping mechansim that worked as well that didn't upset other people.

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:30 PM

susan, I'm soo confused with the time difference, you going to sleep now, does that mean you're working nights?! And as long as you like your hair 2inches shorter thats all that matters, ignore other people, its your hair and hair grows back.....ok, i'll let you continue sleeping now, night night.

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:33 PM

imo = in my opinion

.. i wrote out a big reply but it didnt make sense. my heads starting to fog up again. I'll refer you instead to the poem "If people disapprove of you" by Sophie Hannah. it's a good one for some times

Halloo :]
Dont worry about it...
Its just...things seem to be going wrong...on purpose...O.o
too much to cope with all at once....on their own..itd be no big deal.
I sharnt bore you by listing them all...
but yeh...
I now feel defeated...let down...heart broken...angery...lonely...
and if you could muster even a little snuggle....Id love you forever...:(

Detour. Derail 24-07-2008 11:42 PM

Susan...you could always do what I do :P

"HAVE YOU HAD YOUR HAIR CUT?!?!"
"no..."
"but its shorter..."
"nooo...it shrank back into my head..."

they...just wont question :P

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:42 PM

Hey voice of reason, i know i dont know you very well but i had some assorted hugs around earlier, they can be whatever you want them to be, sparkly or sleepy or comforting, whatever you need.. *offers you a bag of assorted hugs if you'd like them*

*routes around and finds a squishy one*
*gives you a cookie*

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:46 PM

Thanks :) I'm Caela btw

CrazyHayley 24-07-2008 11:46 PM

*GREAT BIG SUPER DUPER SNUGGLE!!!*
now you really must love me for ever, i'll love you back too though, cos unrequited loves a bitch. You wouldn't bore me all by listing them all, but I fear tis too late tonight for me to be of use to anyone now. My eyes are all fuzzy and my neck aches from trying to keep my head up so I think thats my cue to go to bed.
I hope that wherever you all are in the world we can all get a peaceful nights sleep, unhaunted by our worries and issues.
Thanks for everything today guys, I really couldn't have got through it as well as I have done without you all. Night night.

horizon_surfer 24-07-2008 11:50 PM

*Hugs Hayley* night night hun i'm wishing you a peaceful night also

Casper_Fading 24-07-2008 11:50 PM

I couldn't get there! :'( I couldn't... I was so close... but i couldn't get there >.< I'm such a failure.

blondiebear 25-07-2008 12:00 AM

Afternoon power nap. I have another meeting on thursday nights that I really really like too.

I work for myself. Hours are what I make them, so long as I get the jobs done.

I'm 8 hours behind y'all in the UK.

As for barbie friend, brace yourselves; she is a 60 year old who wears mini skirts and low cut tops and 4 inch heels. And her hair long down her back... Any one thing would be a statement, all of it together is a quite a message.
I don't want to look like that. I want to look like the girl next door with strong tones of "i'd rather be hiking."

horizon_surfer 25-07-2008 12:02 AM

hey hope everyones ok enough..
<alive> I dont know whats going on but you being here is a good thing *offers hugs*

i have work in the morning so need to go to bed.. take care everyone

blondiebear 25-07-2008 12:06 AM

Mors Certa, any way you can get home early and get a cool shower to get it all off? Including any in your hair that is making your headache worse? Hope you have a back up pair of glasses you can wear while the new ones are being made?

Casper_Fading 25-07-2008 12:26 AM

I don't want to die.... i just want to reach that goal. it's not a postive one but... well.... i want it? I keep telling myself, i'll stop once i hit it... but will I? I think i would... but I don't know... *sighs*

blondiebear 25-07-2008 01:20 AM

*cuddles Jess*
*shares out peanut butter filled pretzels*

Casper_Fading 25-07-2008 02:29 AM

8curls up* oh dear. I just told a friend it was a wittle scratch.... she's pissed >.,

effervescence 25-07-2008 05:25 AM

jess, no, not that goal, it's not a good one. i don't know if you would stop once you hit it but i think enough damage would be done anyway.
i know you want it honey. but it really won't make everything better.

hey alexx and susan and everyone. you've all been busy since i was here last. hope everything's going ok.

i'm scared of what the doctor will say. i'm scared of the next step my psych has in mind for me. i'm scared of myself and how i've turned out. i just want it all to go away.

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 05:33 AM

Jeff can I have some of what ever you are on that makes you so happy and bouncy... please?!?!
I am on the verge of... yeah... you don't wanna know
*sits in corner and rocks*

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 05:48 AM

*starts to cry on Mors' shoulder*

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 06:10 AM

*pulls away and hides in corner*
Please don't - I'm not worth it

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 06:20 AM

Have you ever felt like... I don't know... not necessarily suicidal... but like you don't wanna be alive?

It's hard to explain, but it's like I don't wanna shoot myself or overdose on pills or anything, but I almost wish I could pretty much just go to sleep and not wake up... does that make sense?
*cries*

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 06:29 AM

will you be my ryl daddy (or brother - i don't know how old you are)?

BoundNoMore 25-07-2008 06:35 AM

i'm 22... yay... i have a daddy!!!!

~*forever_broken*~ 25-07-2008 06:38 AM

Jess, hunni, not a good idea. I know the temptation is hard to resist, but hunni, you're strong, sweetie, I've seen it. And stopping is not all that easy hun. Cross one line and it is SO much easier to cross the next line, and the line after that... Believe me, I've crossed many lines *snuggles* . Please be careful hun

Chloe, what's up luv? What are you scared of? Next step? Remember, my PM box is always open *cuddles*.
Amanda, I'm not sure what's up but sweetie, you are worth a lot more than you believe yourself to be.
----------------

Ugh, I feel crap... I don't think it's ever going to go away either. People look at me in shock when I tell them I've been depressed almost half my life (12 years and some change). Each major depressive episode makes you that much more likely to experience another with the DSM saying that 60% of individuals with MDD will experience a second episode. Those who've had two have a 70% chance of having a third, and those who have had there have a 90% chance of having a fourth... Since I started uni (January 2003) I've had four... And there were a good handful before that. Which basically means I'm ****ed. Add to that the dysthymia that I started out with in early adolescence and that continues to this day... I very rarely have 'normal' days... On one hand I suppose that means I value my 'normal' days more than most... But I'd prefere to have more normal days and value them less than have one every once in a blue moon.

It's never going to stop :crying:
---------------
Wow, sorry for spilling there all...

*cuddles everyone again before heading to her corner for bed*

~*forever_broken*~ 25-07-2008 06:40 AM

*rolls eyes at Mors Certa*

Yes, you're SO old, lol. Sheesh, men :-D
